Pakistan reopened the Torkham gate on Sunday to passengers after closing it for three hours, officials in eastern Nangarhar province said.
Torkham commissioner Mullah Abdul Jabbar Hikmat said Pakistan closed the Torkham gate for three hours.
Earlier, Nangarhar Information and Culture Department’s spokesman Siddiqullah Qureshi said that the Pakistani side had once again closed the Torkham gate.
A hand-cart owner in Torkham said on the condition of anonymity that Pakistani officials had a dispute among themselves in Torkham and as a result passengers were not allowed to cross the gate
Pakistan frequently closes the crossing under different pretexts.
