Mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Baz Mohammad Mubariz says he will enter the ring against his French rival Johan Van de Hel next month.
The athlete wrote on his Facebook account he was happy to be in the service of his countrymen once again by joining the emotional competition.
Mubariz said he would take on Johan on March 31, 2024: “My rival (Johan Van de Hel) is a professional MMA fighter who has won four of the six matches he has played so far.”
The athlete said he was ready for the contest and would try to win it and thereby bring joy to the people of Afghanistan.
The competition will take place in Thailand.
Earlier, another Afghan freestyle fighter, Farid Basharat, had also defeated his French opponent on January 14 in the UFC competitions.
