An Afghan refugee in United Kingdom (UK) has been found guilty of murdering his two-year-old refugee daughter, who he adopted from Afghanistan, after bashing the toddler’s ‘head against a wall’ in a furious rage, according to a media report on Thursday.
Daily mail reported A father-of-four Jan Gholami, 33, and his wife Roqia Ghulami, 32, have been on trial for the murder of ‘bright’ and ‘intelligent’ Zahra Ghulami at their home in Gravesend, Kent, in May 2020.
Jurors heard how little Zahra, adopted in 2017, suffered from a severe skull fracture caused by ‘significant impact with significant energy’ at the hands of Gholami. She was rushed to hospital on May 27 but tragically died two days later.
Gholami and Ghulami, of Oak Road, Gravesend, denied murder, causing or allowing the death of a child and child cruelty.
Judge Mr Justice Wall will sentence Gholami on February 16, and Ghulami at a date to be decided.
