Former Wolesi Jirga member Baktash Siavosh says his father Mohammad Dawood Siavosh has been mysteriously murdered in Germany.
Dawood Siavosh, a journalist, researcher, poet, writer and a member of Afghanistan’s National Writers Union, had been living in Germany for some time.
His son Baktash wrote on his Facebook page on September 20: “With regret and pain, our family mourned once again and we lost our greatest teacher and supporter. We lost our honourable father in another mysterious incident.”
Baktash wrote his father had been missing for three days. German police, who recovered his father’s dead body, have launched investigations into his death.
The ex-legislator said: “My family members are waiting for the police investigations revealing the cause of his death.”
Yama Siavosh, a brother of ex-parliamentarian, had been killed along with two colleagues of Da Afghanistan Bank in a sticky bomb blast on November 7, 2020 in Kabul.
The family of Yama, who once worked as a presenter for TOLOnews, had then called the blast a mysterious attack and asked the United Nations for a thorough investigation.
Baktash said: “My tireless father stood firm like a rock over the past two years and ten months. He sought justice and called for taking the case of my brother to the International Criminal Court. He struggled to drag Yama’s killer and his accomplice to ICC.”
“The martyrdom of my father is mysterious and raises questions. We pray for the soul of that justice-seeker and ask the German government and international institutions to probe this incident and help us reach the truth.”
