Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on Saturday announced the arrival of 192 Afghan refugees in a chartered flight to Canada from the United Arab Emirate (UAE).
Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, tweeted: “Today, a charter flight with 192 Afghan Government-Assisted Refugees arrived safely in Halifax.”
“Welcome to 🇨🇦! Thank you to our UAE partners for helping us make this possible. We’ll continue to fulfill our commitment of welcoming at least 40k Afghan refugees by the end of 2023.”
Meanwhile, the German government on Friday announced resuming the process of transferring Afghans at risk next week.
